Ease Tool Clarification

Thanks to Gayle and the ST, we have documented the following...
In the Ease tools you may see some boxes for some of the reference lines (eg ab and hips on skirts) but putting numbers in there appear to be doing nothing.
The procedure to follow is
1. In the Line Filters (bottom of the Tools column) turn on the Design Ease lines.
2. In the Ease tool you can put in specific ease amounts that will appear on the pattern as gold ease lines the length you have requested. However, the draft of the pattern will not change -- you can merely see if that much ease is being accommodated.
3. Then, in the Ease tool -- add to the hem ease and look at the redrafted pattern to see if the side seams are now accommodating the amount of ease you want. An alternative on some patterns is to use the Flare and either increase or decrease the amount of flare.
Doing it this way allows for a straight seam but helps us from overcompensating and getting a fit that is way too roomy. You probably won't need as much hem ease as you think.
