Yea! Loosing water weight is showing progress at least, better then a scale that says the same thing time after time. Congratulations!

Yeah!!!! Another 1.5 pounds. That makes almost 10 pounds since Monday. I am actually starting to look forward to seeing the scale - which is totally a first in my life!

OK - I guess it is time for me to report. I'm not used to having to cook!!! Aside from that, a bit rockier start but nothing insurmountable. I'm down 3 pounds from when I started - but I think everyone goes up a bit on the binge days, so I'm down 4.6 from the second day of zbinge.
Jim is down 4 from start, 6 from high. But he's a guy - and you know how that goes if you've ever been in a diet with a man.
I am cautiously optimistic. It's only 40 days. It's only 40 days. Jan 21, and then I can have the other meats and veges again.

It is the morning of day 5 for me - down another 1.5 pounds. I am now over 10 pounds down since before the binge phase. This is working well for me, but I can see if you are not fond of fresh fruit and vegetables, that it would not work for you. But I am thrilled and hoping that it will continue through the next few weeks. It will be challenging with my boys home for a Christmas meal - especially since I cannot have turkey or ham - which are our holiday staples. However, it is worth it!

I have been on the diet now for 8 full days - does not seem that long, but things are pretty busy around the holidays. I am still doing fine - in fact I am down over 16 pounds now! Not too much hunger, but my gout is "arguing" me - which is uncomfortable. It will be interesting to see how good I can be around Christmas eating and New Year's Eve drinking - a definite test of my willpower. Thanks for the private notes from some of you - I really can use all the encouragement that I can get! It would be awesome if I could make 20# by Christmas - sort of a present to myself. I can already see that my pants are going to need to be changed next week. I would how many times I will have to change my chart - good thing I can generate the patterns easily.

Just thought you might like to know how it is going in diet land.... Christmas was very hard, but I was totally good, including sitting at a table with my family eating turkey dinner and me eating baked chicken and salad. It was worth it so far - I am down over 22 pounds!! This is day 19 of the diet, and I am feeling fine (other than a cold that my younger son gave me as an extra Christmas present). I hope that things continue to go well, but OMG - my pants are in grave danger of traveling south when I walk. I guess I had better get busy....

I am now down 14.2, and yes, I count every 10th
I'm in one day less than Kat, and am tightening my belt but nothing is falling off yet. It will be interesting to see if there is enough that anyone notices on Monday - I haven't been to work since 12/23.
I have not had the same challenges as Kat since we have not been doing anything outside the house with other folk, and Jim is on the same diet as me. He's been picking up a lot of the cooking (he'd rather do that than the bookkeeping).

WOW! That is great Kat and Kathryn! I was afraid you would be really frustrated trying to lose over the Holidays, but it sounds like you both did just fine.

I am really surprised that we got through the holidays so well, but thankfully we did. And the 25+ pounds that I am at right now have definitely made an impact on my pants. I was playing with the dogs and actually got down on the floor with them (which freaked John out some). During the wrestling, Hershy decided to grab a toy and run - and got part of my pants leg - off the pants came (partway only). I definitely have to do some different pants, but I wanted to wait until the end of this cycle. I may have to do some elastic waist ones, just for the meantime. I am not complaining mind you!

This has been an interesting journey so far - I managed to get a cold as a belated Christmas present from my youngest son. I was very worried that it would mess up my weight loss, but other than some days that I was retaining a little water, it has continued to go pretty well. And I am up to 31 pounds lost!!!!!! Overall I feel great and am terribly impressed with how well things are going.

Wonderful!! It's great that you finally found something that works. How are your health challenges reacting to the diet?

It is a balancing act with the gout and lymphedema, but I seem to be walking that tightrope. Not totally good days, but I feel reasonably good. Only one gout attack so far and that is pretty miraculous considering how touchy it was about salads and high protein before. I am SO enjoying being able to eat salads again - that part is wonderful. And it helps that the people that are running the diet protocol are so supportive.
