Well - guess it is time I spoke up.  I am at 19.8 lbs down with 10 days to go.  I would love to make 30 but unlikely at this point I think.

My pants would fit somewhat better if I could keep them hiked up to my structural waist.  I don't seem to have changed a lot on top so far and lucky to have broad shoulders so maybe I can start thinking about Puyallup for my tops.  Pant fitting still in front of me.

Take care and wish us luck,
Kathryn

Well - I got an interesting new datapoint on myself this morning. When I went to the bloodbank today, (I always go at 6am) they were able to take my blood pressure with the standard cuff.  Previously they have been using the large cuff on me to get a good reading. So...  I must have lost weight in my upper arms.  Hmmmm.....

I have successfully completed the reduction portion of my first Zola cycle - I start on the part that lets you body reset its metabolism next. And I am down 42.5 pounds!!!!!!! I cannot tell you how much better I feel or the energy that is back. I keep looking at my 33 pound dog and thinking, "OMG I have lost a dog and a cat!!. I realize that sounds bizarre, but the abstract number of pounds is hard for me to see. Now I have to go through the "reshaping" part of the cycle. It is getting a little scary, since we have to start sewing for Puyallup, and trying to get a good fit on a changing body is not so easy (as many of you can attest). But I would not trade this for anything. I know that a few of you have started on the diet also. Please  let me know how you are doing.

Congratulations to both of you! Being successful on any diet is difficult no matter the diet. That's wonderful you found something that worked for you. I've done the same thing about comparing the amount of weight I lost to something visual. At one time my visual was a 4th grade student!

Kat & Kathryn,
I haven't had many chances to check in lately, so the diet news was new to me.
It sounds like you are both off to a great start, and I hope it does exactly what you are hoping for.

Kat, it would be so wonderful to hear that your body had been successfully recruited to work for you rather than against.
I will keep that goal in my prayers.

Thanks Laura! I have missed you and hope that you are well. The diet is interesting - to say the least. But it seems to be really working for me - the first time that has happened.

It was finally time to remeasure. I had finished the first reduction cycle and am in the reboot stage, and need clothes. Even though I could not see the differences in the mirror, the measurements really showed the differences. Definitely tells me why I cannot use my old clothes anymore. Some surprising reductions!!

Thought it was about time that I updated this topic. It has been exactly 3 months since I started on this diet - what a wild ride so far. I am now 52.6 pounds lighter than I was on December 12th. Most of that weight was lost in the first 40 days - they call it ZReduction phase. Then you go into a ZReboot phase that lets you adjust your food intake to maintain what you have lost. This stage was actually harder for me - I have not eaten so many calories per day since I can remember. But I survived it. Now I am back on the reduction phase, looking at another chunk of weight. I am trying not to have hard expectations, but hope that I can come close to another 30 pounds this cycle.

I feel so much better, it is nuts! But is it ever causing a problem with my clothes!!!!! Shocked I totally redid pants for Puyallup, because otherwise I was going to be mooning the West Coast (not a pretty mental picture). Those pants are already slightly loose. And my tops are tough also. With everything in the "fluid jello" stage, it is very hard to get a good fit. I will be on the reduction phase for the first few days of the Spring EA conference, which should be interesting. That makes it convenient for new measurements I guess. This way the ST and the EAs can practice on me for a change!

The diet continues - over my skepticism and fears, but it is working. 62 pounds so far!!!! I feel so much better that it is scary, but I know that I have a long way to go. I keep thinking I will wake up and find that it is a dream, but the scale keeps telling me a consistent story, so I am going with the flow. Clothing is becoming a major problem however, since my body is changing fast enough that I cannot get a good set of measurements that lasts longer than a week. For now, I am concentrating on styles that do not involve a tailored fit. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Good Lord! The thought of a toga is enough to give me nightmares! And Muumuus are more like tents than garments, so I will stick with Chanel jackets, pants with elastic back bands, and shoulder princess shells. Every day the scale tells me 0.2-1.5 pounds less. So I have to start a "system" - pile on the left, too big (but still nervous about getting rid of them), pile in the middle - fits now, pile on the right - almost there. My closet looks like a battle field, with empty hangers, etc. I wonder when the shoe size will change....
