Here's a sneak peek and a chance to help me decide --

I made the overlap for 5/8" buttons w/o having the buttons.  Now I've gone into my stash and found two great candidates and either will work.

The taupe is 1/16" over (11/16") and coordinates perfectly with the rolled hem on the collar.  This one would call attention to the buttons.

The maroon is 1/16" under (9/16") and coordinate perfectly with one of the flowers.  This one is a little more dainty and adds a feminine touch to go with the tucks on the collar and hemline.  This one also would recede more into the front of the blouse.

Oh, what to do?  what to do?

I like the smaller ones.  The print is small and I think the larger buttons aren't a good fit.

My vote is for the little maroon ones too.  They fit better with the print.  Somehow the gray ones have sort of a remedial feel??

The taupe ones look too big for the tiny print and the maroon ones go ever so well...
Voting for the small maroon ones

Everyone is confirming my gut reaction -- I had gone to the stash for taupe ... and they do match the taupe thread on the collar ... but my gut was telling me to use the little maroon ones.

I know "big" (much, much bigger than this) buttons were in, maybe now they are out again, but I have never been a fan.

The like the blouse and the collar very much but the taupe - too casual.  The maroon buttons will be just right.  Very pretty!

Hilda's public has spoken -- maroon it is!

She has a pretty good fit, too, for someone with only half a torso and no arms!

There is a little ease built into the blouse as if she were a real person.  I didn't want to make it so tight that it would be difficult to button the buttons.
