TCC uses three main components to produce customized patterns: measurements, an application engine and a pattern. The software uses a patented engineering approach to create a virtual body with the measurements and applies the pattern information to that body. This application includes a variety of draping and wrapping techniques, so that the resulting pattern follows the measurements accurately.

Each pattern has a variety of possible tools that allow the user to modify the initial silhouette. The exact tools are determined by the TCC engine, with the higher level bringing a more powerful control of the pattern alterations.
